Request to Allowlist Instructional Website
I am requesting that the website below be added to our district's content filter allowlist so that I can use it for classroom instruction. The site is a TEKS- and STAAR-aligned 8th grade science resource tool and does not require installation of any software — it runs in a standard web browser.
Website Details
Site name:
FIT-SCIENCE 8th Grade Resources
Full URL:
https://fitscience-8thgrade-resources.com
Domain to allowlist:
fitscience-8thgrade-resources.com
Category:
Education / K-12 Instructional
Publisher:
Foundations in Teaching — https://www.foundationsinteaching.com
Access required:
HTTPS (standard browser, no plugins or downloads)
Why it is currently blocked
The site is hosted on a shared platform subdomain that most content filters (Lightspeed Relay, GoGuardian, Securly, iBoss, Fortinet, Cisco Umbrella, etc.) categorize as "uncategorized" or "hosting/infrastructure" and block by default. Adding the domain above to the district allowlist will resolve the block.
Privacy & Compliance
Accessed only by teacher accounts; no student PII is collected by the platform beyond names entered by the teacher for assignment tracking.
Operates over HTTPS — all traffic is encrypted in transit.
A FERPA-compliant Data Privacy Agreement (DPA) can be provided on request to satisfy Texas SB 820 requirements.
No third-party advertising or tracking pixels are served to students.
